One day Jesus Christ will no longer be ignored, dismissed, mocked, or treated as though He does not matter. His return will not be hidden, and the world will not have to wonder whether He has come.

“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.”(Revelation 1:7)

Every eye will see Him. Not only believers. Not only those who have been watching and waiting. The entire world will see the One whom so many rejected.

Paul tells us what will eventually happen before Christ:

“So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”(Philippians 2:10–11)

Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess.

God said the same thing through Isaiah long before Christ came to earth:

“I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness and will not turn back, that to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.”(Isaiah 45:23)

Paul repeated that truth in Romans:

“For it is written, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.’”(Romans 14:11)

The question is not whether people will eventually acknowledge Christ. Scripture tells us they will.

The question is when.

A person can bow before Christ now in faith, repentance, love, and surrender. Or that person can continue rejecting Him until the day His authority can no longer be denied.

Jesus said:

“And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.”(Matthew 24:30)

His return will make His authority unmistakable. The One whom the world rejected will be seen in power and glory. The One whom many treated as unimportant will stand before them as Lord and Judge.

That is why the time to respond to Christ is now.

There is a day of invitation, but Scripture also tells us there will be a day of judgment. Jesus warned that a time comes when the door is shut. Revelation describes people hiding in terror before the One who sits on the throne and before the wrath of the Lamb.

Today God still calls people to repentance.

“Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”(Acts 17:30–31)

Notice how certain that is.

God has fixed a day.

The Judge has been appointed.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the proof God has given.

This message is not only for people who openly reject Christ. It is also a warning to those who call Jesus “Lord” while refusing to obey Him.

Jesus asked:

“Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”(Luke 6:46)

Those words should make every professing Christian stop and examine his life. Calling Jesus Lord is not the same thing as surrendering to His lordship. A person can know religious language, attend church, sing Christian songs, and still resist what Christ commands.

Jesus gave the church in Laodicea a severe warning:

“So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.”(Revelation 3:16)

Lukewarm Christianity is not safe Christianity. Christ does not call us to give Him a small part of our lives while keeping the rest for ourselves. He calls us to follow Him.

The good news is that the door of salvation is still open today.

Paul wrote:

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”(Romans 10:9–10)

That confession is more than words spoken with the mouth. Jesus is Lord. Saving faith trusts Him, turns toward Him, and begins following Him.

Jesus said:

“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”(Luke 9:23)

He also said:

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”(John 14:15)

Obedience does not purchase salvation. We are saved by God’s grace. But a person who belongs to Christ should increasingly desire to obey the One who saved him.

That means this message is also for the believer who has drifted.

If your prayer life has grown cold, return.

If Scripture has been pushed aside, return.

If sin has been excused instead of confessed, return.

If Christ has slowly been moved from the center of your life to the edge, return.

Do not wait for some frightening event to make you serious about God. Do not assume there will always be another convenient time.

Scripture says:

“For He says, ‘At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.’ Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation.’”(2 Corinthians 6:2)

One day every eye will see Him.

One day every knee will bow.

One day every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

The wise response is not to wait until His glory makes denial impossible.

Bow before Him now.

Follow Him now.

Obey Him now.

Love Him now.

Better to bow willingly before Christ today than to wait for the day when sight forces what love should have offered.
