Every person has sinned against God. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God, and we cannot remove it by being religious, doing good deeds, or trying to become better people.
We need someone to save us.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do what we could never do. Jesus lived without sin and willingly died on the cross in our place. He took the punishment our sins deserved. He was buried, and He rose from the dead on the third day.
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
To be saved, you must repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Repentance means admitting that you have sinned, turning away from your old life, and turning toward God. Believing means trusting that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again. You are placing your life in His hands and depending on Him alone to save you.
Salvation is not something you earn. It is God’s gift.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
You can come to God right now. Tell Him honestly that you have sinned. Ask Him to forgive you, and place your faith in Jesus Christ. A prayer cannot save you. Jesus saves you when you truly repent and believe.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Do not wait until you think you are good enough. You never will be. Come to Christ as you are, and He will begin making you into the person He wants you to be.
If you have repented of your sins and placed your faith in Jesus Christ, tell someone. Speak with a Christian you trust or a faithful pastor who can help you begin your new life in Christ. You may also email Dean at dean.butler1950@gmail.com
